Dr. WardTimothy H. Ward, MD

Dr. Ward is a South Georgia native raised in nearby Mitchell County. He attended Valdosta State College graduating with honors in Biology and Chemistry. Dr. Ward received his Doctor of Medicine Degree from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia. His Internship and Residency in Anesthesiology was completed at Eugene Talmadge Memorial Hospital and University Hospital in Augusta. Dr. Ward had subspecialty training emphasis on regional anesthesia/pain managemet techniques. This subspecialty of Anesthesiology eventually became the recognized subspecialty of Pain Management with specialized training and certification in the late 1990's.  Dr. Ward taught on faculty at Medical College before moving to Thomasville to practice anesthesiology at Archbold Memorial Hospital in 1983. In 2003 he became interested in the growing subspecialty of Interventional Pain Management (distinct from Pain Management). He affiliated with the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians (ASIPP) and began a four year training program culminating in a  Board Certification in Interventional Pain Management. The American Board of Interventional Pain Physicians (ABIPP) is the only board certification available for Interventional Pain Management.

He has always been an active member of the community and Hospital Staff serving as the Chairman of the Department of Anesthesiology, Chairman of the Surgery/Anesthesiology Section, Medical Executive Board, and Chief of Staff 2005-2006 among other commitments.  Dr. Ward has been a member of the First Methodist Church since 1984, raised two children, and continues to enjoy the rural lifestyle of the Thomasville area that includes hunting, fishing, and family.

Jessica Chastain Fields, Certified Adult- Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner

Jessica is a native to Moultrie, Georgia. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Valdosta State University, graduating Magna Cum Laude in December 2006. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Valdosta State University in May 2014. While obtaining her degrees at VSU, she was a member of the Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International. She is certified at an Adult- Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and is licensed by the state of Georgia.

Jessica previously worked as a registered nurse at Colquitt Regional Medical Center, where her experience included labor and delivery, nursery, and postpartum. She also has experience working as a registered nurse at Baddour Urology Center in Moultrie, Georgia. Jessica is married to her high school sweetheart, Shaun and they have two children, Ava and Carter. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Jessica joined Thomasville Pain Center in summer of 2014. She is excited to be part of such a caring and collaborative team. She is looking forward to providing holistic and compassionate care to those patients living with chronic pain.

 


 

Laura Ashley Jacobs, Certified Family Nurse Practitioner

Ashley is a native to Hartsfield, Georgia. She attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College where she played collegiate tennis. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Georgia Southern University in 2007. In 2010, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Valdosta State University. In 2014, she earned her Master of Science in Nursing in Family Nurse Practitioner from Georgia Southern University. She was a member of Sigma Theta Tau. She is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and is licensed by the state of Georgia.

Ashley previously worked as a registered nurse at Colquitt Regional Medical Center, where she obtained experiences as a labor and delivery, nursery, and postpartum nurse. In her spare time, Ashley enjoys reading, outdoor activities and spending time with family and friends.

Ashley joined Thomasville Pain Center in spring of 2015. She is grateful for the opportunity to help improve the daily lives of those suffering with pain.
